Frequently Asked Questions

That’s okay. Current MRI and X-ray imaging are required to review your injury and perform your consultation. If needed, our team can provide a prescription for any images you are missing so you can obtain them locally. Once you've registered, our team can assist you.

MRI and X-ray imaging show different parts of the joint. X-rays help evaluate bone health and alignment, while MRIs show soft tissue such as ligaments, tendons, cartilage, and muscle. Reviewing both allows Dr. Stone to make the most accurate preliminary diagnosis and treatment recommendation before you travel.

In some cases, MRI imaging also helps evaluate arthritis severity, which can affect surgical options.

Your imaging should be submitted in DICOM format, the standard electronic file format used by medical imaging providers. Photos, screenshots, PDFs, or images taken with a phone or tablet are not diagnostic-quality imaging and cannot be used for your consultation

Please do not send viewing links or webpages from your imaging facility. They will not be accepted. These links often expire, require separate logins, or prevent our team from organizing your images properly for review.

After you register, our team will provide instructions for sending your MRI and X-ray files online or by mail.

Yes. After your consultation with Dr. Stone, our team will provide an estimate for your recommended treatment and review logistics, scheduling, and next steps so you can make an informed decision before moving forward.

You can also review our Financial Considerations page for more information, including monthly payment plan options.

The Stone Clinic does not bill insurance directly. After your consultation with Dr. Stone, our team will provide an estimate for your recommended treatment so you can understand the cost of care before deciding how to move forward.

You can learn more about monthly payment plans and billing support on our Financial Considerations page.

You can send us your MRIs and X-rays online or via mail. To transfer your medical imaging to us online, click on the following link to use our imaging uploader tool. Simply open the CD/DVD of your MRIs and X-rays within our platform and all of your medical imaging should automatically upload and transmit. Head to this webpage for step-by-step instructions.
