Arrange a Complimentary Consultation
If you're in the San Francisco Bay Area, please book an appointment to see us in person by calling us at +1 (415) 563-3110. If you don't live in the Bay Area, we offer a complimentary virtual pre-appointment consultation service. Please note this pre-appointment service is only available for patients 100 miles outside the San Francisco Bay Area (and is not applicable to any in-office services).
Patients in the US & Canada, please select the Request a Consult button from the dropdown and register yourself on our communication platform, Klara. Then select Book Appointment and our team will reach out within the next business day via SMS text with next steps.
International patients, please begin by completing the form linked in the International Consult button below.
Step 1: Complete Registration Form
US & Canadian patients will first register here and once registered then select Book Appointment from the options. Our team will reach out via SMS text within the next business day with the next steps.
International patients will begin by completing this form. Once complete, our Consultation Coordinators will reach out to you via email with the next steps.
Step 2: Send Your MRIs & X-rays
In order to deliver a consultation, we require medical imaging (MRI and X-rays) of the injured joint. You will be provided instructions on how to send us your MRIs and X-rays (or provided with a prescription for the necessary images if you don’t have them already).
Please note your MRIs and X-rays must be:
- Less than 12 months old.
- Postoperative, meaning after any previous surgeries.
- Of diagnostic quality. Do NOT send any photos or PDFs of images taken with phones, tablets, etc.
Step 3: Schedule Your Appointment
Once you’ve sent your MRIs and X-rays, our Patient Coordinators can arrange your consultation with Dr. Stone. Prior to your scheduled appointment, you will just have to complete a patient history questionnaire and send us any operative/radiology reports.
You can send us your MRIs and X-rays online or via mail. To transfer your medical imaging to us online, click on the following link to use our imaging uploader tool. Simply open the CD/DVD of your MRIs and X-rays within our platform and all of your medical imaging should automatically upload and transmit. Head to this webpage for step-by-step instructions.
You may also mail the CD/DVD of your medical imaging directly to The Stone Clinic using the address below:
The Stone Clinic
Attention: Consultation Coordinator
3727 Buchanan Street, Suite 300
San Francisco CA 94123
To have your medical information returned after your consultation, please include a self-addressed FedEx shipping label including your FedEx account number or credit card information for shipment along with your package. Your imaging disc will NOT be sent back to you without this.
In order for Dr. Stone to properly view the diagnostic detail of your medical imaging and provide the best possible assessment of your injury, we require that all MRI and x-ray images must be submitted in DICOM format, which is the international standard electronic file format for medical imaging.
DICOM format is used for all imaging CDs and DVDs provided by imaging providers and medical facilities. Our uploading tool will only accept images in the DICOM format, so please do not send pictures of images taken with phones, tablets, etc. as the tool will NOT transmit those images to The Clinic.
We receive hundreds of requests for consultations and ask our prospective patients to send us their imaging via our online tool or mail so we may store all patient imaging files in one place, organized and accessible for any potential future care. Please do not send any viewing links/webpages from your imaging facility/radiologist as it will delay or prevent your consultation.
If you have any questions or need additional assistance in sending us your medical records. Please contact our Consultation Coordinator at +1(415) 563-3110 Monday-Friday 9am-5pm PST and they'll be happy to assist you.
